Please meet our V-Inspiring woman of the week, Stacy Davidoff. Stacy is a gifted energy healer and astrologer. As we are each born with unique DNA, we are also born with unique birth charts. We have come to think of astrology as the DNA of our soul. This differs completely from a monthly horoscope in a magazine. Stacy, prepares very specific, and labor intensive birth charts, which indicate the position of every planet at the exact moment of your birth, and this information reveals patterns and predictions about your life. Stacy is also a wonderful energy healer.
If you are having a concern and need some planetary guidance, or feeling out of balance energetically, we suggest, you give Stacy a call.
Name: Stacy Davidoff
Job (aka, Career/Calling/Inspiration): Energy Healer & Astrologer
Age: 48
Family situation (kids? dating? long-term relationship?): I live with my cat, Misha.
How do you make sure you feel good everyday? I read, listen to or watch something inspirational. Abraham-Hicks, Eckhardt Tolle, Louise Hay, and a host of others who serve to remind me that we are always dealing with only one conscious thought. More importantly, we have the power to choose the thoughts we think. So choose I the good ones!
What inspires you to do the work that you do?
That’s simple, I am doing what I love!
How did you muster up the courage/confidence/stamina to create the life you have?
Honestly I really didn’t see much of a choice. After years of working in jobs that were unfulfilling for me, I just had to do this. Once I made that leap, the Universe gave me incredible support by bringing just the right circumstances and people into my life to help me along the way. It’s been an amazing journey and I believe I still have a way to go before arriving at my final destination.
What’s your approach to nutrition? After nearly 20 years as an ethical vegetarian, I learned the hard way, that my system just isn’t right for vegetarianism. I had to make a very tough decision two years ago, this is when I began including meat in my diet. However, I do eat organic as much as possible and I make sure to thank the animals and vegetation for becoming my food. I am always aware of how important it is to bless your food and to cook with love because that has an affect on an energetic level. When eating out, I avoid places where the “vibe” isn’t good. Also, I believe it’s very important to allow food to be fun. Too many restrictions or too much focus on every little thing you eat can lead to obsession issues. Food should be enjoyed, just don’t over do the “bad” stuff that’s all.
How do you stay inspired when difficult challenges arise?
I believe that challenges are important because they lead to change and growth. So I usually view challenges as opportunities to better my situation. It can even be fun coming up with new strategies to make it through. However, when challenges become overwhelming, a little assistance can go a long way. Sometimes you need someone to talk to, who will listen. I am blessed with wonderful friends. In times of great difficulty it has been these true friends who have stuck with me, allowing my process to unfold and guiding me through the darkness.
What do you do to stay in balance – in other words, how do you balance things like your career, your well-being, your happiness, your friends, your children, your spouse, dating, your fitness, your nutrition, your hobbies, etc.?
Balance is an interesting word to use, because it does sometimes require a balancing act. Admittedly it is tricky balancing my social life with career. I do sometimes forego social activities to be available to my clients, many of whom are only able to see me after their work day has ended or on weekends. Yet I have the luxury of making my own schedule, so I can actually ‘schedule’ time to go to an exercise class or to spend time with family and friends so that part of my life doesn’t get neglected.
What’s your ultimate indulgence – just for you?
You mean besides chocolate?
What advice do you have for women/men aiming to have it all? In other words, what do you do or have you done that works for you?
I’m not sure we are supposed to have ‘it all’ or rather I don’t believe that the majority of people really want it all. So the first thing I would ask is, what is it that they truly want? Not what society says we are supposed to want, but rather what is it in our heart of hearts that we wish to have. Once people become aware of the things they don’t really want, they wont feel like they need to have them. Once the list has been narrowed down, they can focus on manifesting what is important for them.
Perhaps for some, being a wife and stay-at-home mother (or husband and stay-at-home father) is what would be most fulfilling yet they don’t really have a calling for a career outside of that. For others, maybe a successful career and the freedom to travel is what will bring them fulfillment, but the very idea of being in a committed relationship makes them feel too confined.
Personally, I have never felt the need to have children. I can’t explain why and I know it seems unnatural to most people, but I’ve never had that impulse. Although I love being in a relationship and have been married before, I don’t feel a need for a husband, at least not at this juncture in my life (although that may change at some point). For some people, owning a house or condo is important, but not for me, I love having the freedom of not owning. When things break down I simply call my landlord and he deals with it.
And yet nothing is etched in stone. Sometimes one’s desires shift. The stay-at-home mom might get the inspiration for a career after the children are in school. The confirmed bachelor might start to feel incomplete and develop a desire for a life partner. The career driven person might decide they wish to scale things down and have time to enjoy the little things in life.
So one might get to have it all over the span of their lifetime but that doesn’t necessarily mean we need to have it all right now.
Any other thoughts?
Just a little humor. With the exception of my name, career and age, I could have easily answered each of these questions with one word, Chocolate.
