Choose Your Thoughts!

It’s time for us to reset. As the recession continues, some of us are left with fewer choices. My mission at Venus in Balance, together with Susan, is to look at ways to increase our options, our joy, our health, our happiness, our presence, our sense of security… to decrease our stress, our annoyance, our aggravation, our insecurity, our negativity…. Overall, to attain a state of balance. What can we control in this very unusual time we’re in?

I like to think that we can control a lot! We have power over what goes on inside us intellectually and emotionally. We have the power to choose our thoughts and our focus. We have the power to choose what we eat and how we nourish our bodies. We have the power to feed our spirits. We have the power to determine to what extent we move our bodies. We have the power to act on our thoughts to manifest our goals and life’s vision. We also have the power to do the opposite of all of that and in effect, deny ourselves of the best that we can be.

We need consistently must reset to raise our awareness as to what our patterns are. What do we do daily that is productive? And conversely, what unproductive habits or patterns cause us to continually fall short of our potential? Raising our awareness allows us to recognize what we’re doing right and should continue along that journey. And it also allows us to recognize when we need to step back from the negative patterns and figure out a different path.

We start from the inside and build that inner strength. In other words, we look at ways of creating health, energy and vitality that will provide the foundation for you to create as much success, joy and fulfillment in your career, your personal relationships and your general existence. Get your insides intact, and the outside just flows from it.

What are five things that you do on a daily basis that is getting you closer to where you want to be – to your ultimate vision for your life? And what are five things that you do that are preventing you from making the progress that you want to make, being the person you want to be? What can you do now (daily!) to be the person you want to be?

Share with us an example of what’s productive for you and what holds you back!

These action steps REALLY work. I have many years of spiritual studies and have always kept a gratitude journal, but to me, a visualization of my dream life seemed materialistic, as if I was being greedy and always “asking for something.” Not true. Visualization is an important component of achieving our dreams. But it took me a leap to get there. At the end of my sessions with Karen, I would dread actually doing the “action steps” we devised. I realized it was my fear of success that kept me from envisioning my dream job/life and taking action. Of course, I grew to love Karen’s action steps, and I know you will too. We are all so busy, but I ask – are you busy in a way that is feeding your soul? Do you feel filled up or drained? If you answered the latter, you are ready for some action!
