Gorgeous, Paraben-free Face Powder & Mascara from Korres

I’ve been on a mission to find some good, easy-to-get makeup that is good for me. Lucky for me, there’s no other city in the world where instant gratification is truly instant. I decided one afternoon to troll the two or three blocks near my apartment for some new goodies, and I popped into Bloomingdale’s, Barneys and Sephora.

I’d had it in my head I wanted to try this line that I was familiar with from my days on the King’s Road in London – Korres. Famous for their botanical and natural lines, I thought I would try their mineral face powder and their mascara. Well, I just love their Wild Rose Brightening Powder. It’s light but provides really thorough coverage, and as it’s name indicates, it contains Wild Rose oil that’s a great source of vitamin C. At $28 a pop, it’s not much different in price than MAC or other cosmetics lines that I touch and covet at the fancy department stores.

I tried their mascara too. It’s super natural, free of all kinds of stuff that we don’t want in our food or our makeup (parabens, GMOs, synthetic dyes and fragrances, etc.). I found that the mascara, fortified with Abyssinia oil, did the trick. My lashes were long, and the mascara stayed on strong.

Good to know that Korres is easy to get (isn’t there a Sephora at every mall in America now?), and that it won’t break the bank.

I am so trying that face powder! I don’t know that brand at all. I use mascara by Organic Wear (sold at the health food store!) I used to know all the brands by heart and every new product that came out. These days I don’t really try new makeup. I just order my trusted and true bronzer and concealer. However, I will be checking out that powder and mascara. My store searches always take me to the lipstick counter. If I don’t put on a stitch of makeup I still like my lip gloss. I really like the organic brand, Peacekeeper and the colors I’ve tried are called Truthful and Loving! Who doesn’t feel better already?
