Hand Sanitizers – More HARM than GOOD!

To accompany our piece on gym safety. This week’s Venus Tip is about hand santizers.
These sanitizers are everywhere and often used in lieu of handwashing. A recent study found that pure water is more effective in removing gastro-intestinal virus germs from your hands than both, anti-bacterial soap and hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer is no substitute for washing hands.
The non-organic sanitizers are full of chemicals and alcohol. Did you know that a 2 ounce bottle contains as much alcohol as four shots of vodka. This can lead to alcohol poisoning in children. The overuse of sanitizers can also lead to a compromised immune system, which makes one resistant to antibiotics and at a higher risk for contagious diseases.
Ditch the chemical santizers, wash your hands regularly and stock up on a great organic, chemical-free sanitizer. I love E. O. Lavender Hand Sanitizer.
