Today we are sharing the Venus Produce Guide. Your shopping tool to help you know which produce you should always buy organic and where it’s ok to choose conventional.
We know that our fruits and vegetables are covered in pesticides and chemicals to help them grow bigger, faster, to look great and have those amazing colors. However, these toxins are slowly making us sick, and fat! Our body doesn’t know how to metabolize toxins, so they turn into xenoestrogens in the body and get stored as fat. How ironic since we eat them to be healthy and ward off illness.
There is a new group of consumers so frightened to give toxins to their children, and rightly so, that they aren’t giving them any produce. If you absolutely can’t afford to buy organic produce, please don’t feel guilty about that. We want to let you know that eating conventional fruits and vegetables is absolutely better than eating none.
We want to share with you today, a simple way to clean pesticides and chemicals off of your conventional produce. It’s easy and VIB can help!
How To Clean Conventional Fruits and Vegetables:
This is an easy way to cleanse, sanitize and remove residue from your produce. Buy two spray bottles, the type you might use to water your plants. Fill one with Peroxide and the other with White Vinegar.
Put the peroxide and white vinegar in separate bottles. Use 3/4 peroxide and 1/4 water, do the same with the vinegar. Spray on food separately. Do not mix the two together in one bottle – they will not be effective. Separately they remove toxins, chemicals, bacteria, germs from handling, and salmonella. I use the peroxide first and the vinegar second. I then rinse with water. This routine becomes second nature and really takes just a moment.
It also cuts down on toxic chemicals in your home – you can use this method to clean counter tops after chicken, meat, etc… I add a drop of lemon or peppermint essential oil to the peroxide to help give a nice smell.
For open-leafy greens, soak in warm water and add 1 drop of lemon oil and sea salt. Let soak for a bit and then rinse.

The above cleaning methods greatly reduce germs from handling, bacteria and most residue. However, they won’t be completely toxin free if they aren’t organic.
No excuses, go enjoy those veggies!

Does the peroxide & vinegar render the pesticides innocuous? If not, then we just shift the problem somewhere else – down the drain.
Adrienne,
Hi. Thank you for reading VIB. Your concern is an accurate one. The peroxide and vinegar do break down the toxins and chemicals from your produce in a natural way. However, while I am not a toxicologist I would imagine traces do go into our water system. It is a personal choice to make. However, with small children, pregnant women, or the elderly it is best for us to eliminate as many toxins from our body as possible. I would suggest getting toxins out of our food and using a water filtration system. Of course, buying organic produce will help a lot. Thank you again. Best, Susan
