Krav Maga Self-Defense Training Is SO Empowering!

Each new year I make a promise to incorporate more joy and peace into my life. For me this comes from being with family, exercise, reading, cooking, taking vacations, and from learning new things. I think this is the surest way to wake up the soul and remain youthful in spirit.

With the economy still dwindling this can present certain challenges, especially where entertainment, vacations, and other non-necessity items are desired. Well this is where Lifebooker comes in. If you missed my article on Lifebooker a few years back, please read it  http://www.venusinbalance.com/who-wants-to-get-50-80-off-their-next-hair-spa-gym-yoga-appointment/. Lifebooker is a wonderful resource where you can experience your favorite spa treatments, beauty specials and fitness classes, at greatly reduced prices.

A new studio called Krav NYC, just opened up in my neighborhood and I learned about them through Lifebooker. In January I began taking Krav classes. I had heard about Krav-Maga from fitness magazines and certain celebrities who train in Krav when action-combat is needed in films. Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, Hilary Swank, and that awesome actress from The Dragon Tatoo series, all do krav training. To be perfectly honest, while intrigued, I was also intimidated.

Krav-Maga is the name for Israeli hand-to-hand combat. Krav is the Hebrew word for contact-combat. It’s the system used to train Israeli soldiers. Today it’s used to train special forces, CIA, FBI, US Marshalls, you get the idea. It’s the real deal and I wish I knew about it when I was growing up with three brothers! You will learn fundamental self-defense techniques and develop combat strength. Krav NYC also offers toning and conditioning drills and cardio kickboxing classes.

Did I mention I’m training with my husband! My favorite saying is “In marriage there are either two winners, or there are none”. Not so in Krav!

By the way, I’m the furthest thing from a fierce kick-boxer, just someone who wants to try new things and perhaps strengthen my legs in the process. I’m pretty sure the special ops team won’t be accepting my job application any time soon!

If you want to try something new, get strong and feel full of girl-power, I suggest you give Krav-NYC a call.

I love strong girl power!
