TRX Workout – Weight Bearing Workout for Sinewy Muscles

TRX Suspension TrainingLast summer, at the encouragement of friends who’d seen someone go from a bit scrawny to – in their words – “jacked up!”, I took on the challenge of the TRX workout. Our trusted trainer and easily-could-be-GI-Jane-body-double, Kathy King, happily obliged and got trained on all things TRX, and my friend and I worked out on the TRX all summer. I just looked at a picture from last summer, and I thought – wow, my arms looked good! (I NEVER think that about my arms!) So we’re back in Westport for the summer, and we’re back to the TRX.

What is the TRX? Check it out here. It’s a workout where you use your suspended body weight, requiring you to really engage your core (read: abs of steel!). We’ve heard stories of people who are super fit cardiovascularly who can’t necessarily kill it on the TRX.

With the TRX, you work your entire being, engaging muscles you never knew you had or that you could never figure out how to reach with traditional weight programs. Created by a former US Navy Seal (ever seen one of those guys looking soft?), it is an awesome overall body workout! Kathy King says, “The TRX is such an effective and efficient workout, and the best part is that you can get a whole lot done in a short amount of time!” And see the results!

The best part of the TRX is that every exercise you do on the thing works your core. Not only do you get strong on the inside, but it shows on the outside! Talk about being cut up! You are stronger in every way, and abs of steel likely come with the process! Check it out! You want to be jacked up too, right?

Developed by a Navy Seal? Wow. Love the TRX, I've been using it for about a year at my gym. I love it so much that I got one to use at home. I don't possess abs of steel, but it's a fun workout. It reminds me of trying out for the circus. Weight and resistance training are fantastic for women - give it a try.
